We will be holding a local history exhibition at Flash Village Hall from Saturday 30th August until Saturday 13th September 2014.At the moment this is in the planning stage but the hall is booked.Although the main exhibits will cover Flash & Hollinsclough we hope to gather more from other parishes in the ancient parish of Alstonefield.
In addition to wills, rentals, bmd’s, maps etc we thought that we could hold a family tree day.If you have done your family tree and you are happy to bring it, please would you let me know.We would also welcome any photos and documentsthat you could bring or email to us.
We are hoping to arrange some guided heritage walks and a couple of coach trips looking at the topography, place names, buildings etc. We may also do some children's activities eg weaving & covering buttons etc.
If you have any ideas, subjects or activities that you would like to have included in the Exhibition, please tell us and we will do our best. Thank you.
I am currently researching family history (like a lot of folks!). I only just came across the fact that you were holding an exhibition in September, so i've missed that! However i am trying to find part of my family My Great granddad George Plant.who I believe lived at Gollings farm or the Gollins or Colshaw in the 20's/30's.
