Hi Everybody , we are trying to work out how old Wilshaw Bottom is. We have several generations of Tunnicliffs living there but the ealiest mention we have is on the gravestone of Joseph Tunnicliff 1805 which says of Wilshaw Bottom. We have a death of Thomas Tunnicliff 1747 which just says of Wilshaw, is this the same place? We were wondering when the Tunnicliff family first actually lived there. Does anyone have any answers?

Hello Margaret
Sorry, I'm not answering your question but I thought that the following may be of interest.  You may have wondered what happened to young William.  I found it in the Ashbourne parish records.
1722 21st June, William Tunnicliffe from Longnor - a young man about 18 years old who was killed by a wagon wheel going over his back, in Painters Lane, suppose he fell off the shaft, being asleep. disbelief
Regards
Victoria
